Giving the house a makeover often follows the cooler season. The old trunk no longer is used to hold the linens used daily, instead it makes a wonderful piece to display antique blankets or a hand made quilt, and it double as extra seating.

The more dented, painted, or scratched the surface the more fitting. Rustic dcor isn't about fine antiques to be displayed but not touched. Rustic dcor is about basic home furnishings that you are going to use and love on a daily basis adding warmth, charm and an eclectic touch to the room and making the room so inviting.

Wall to wall carpet is not the best choice for your rustic dcor but it is part of many homes so if you're face with this dilemma why not choose a large throw rug to accent the center and give it a layered rustic feel. Needlepoint area rugs or braided rugs are the perfect choice....
