Getting the Most Value Out of Your Proxima Lamps

Need more lighting in your space? Do you have a dark hallway or entry way that needs a touch of color as well as light? Adding a lamp to your space, wether large or small is a great way to get the color and lighting that is much needed anywhere. You should also know about proxima lamps.

There are many different quality projectors on the market and Proxima is one of those. Lamps aren't cheap so you want to make sure you take good care of them. Here are some tips to extend the life of your Proxima lamps.

The most common reason for a projector bulb to fail is heat. If you don't allow the bulb to cool you will shorten the life of the lamp. Newer models have an automatic power off switch but on older models you need to make sure you power the projector off so it doesn't heat up.

When you are done with your projector you need to make sure it runs the full fan cycle before you unplug it and store it away. The fan cycle cools everything down appropriately so as to help extend the life of the lamp.

You should clean the filter on your projector regularly. A dirty filter will cause your projector to run hotter and that will cause the lamp to fail prematurely. Clean your filter every 3 months using a can of compressed air which you can buy at your local office depot. If you are using your projector in a dusty or smoky environment you'll need to clean it once a month.

The newer digital projectors have what's called an Economy Mode. This setting uses less brightness from the projector lamp so the lamp lasts longer. For example if you have a projector with 2000 lumens of brightness and the lamp is rated for 2000 hours if you put the projector in Eco-Mode the brightness drops to 1500 and your lamp longevity jumps to 3000 hours. So whenever possible use the economy mode....
