2. Console Lamps

Are anywhere from 32 inches to 45 inches tall. Because they are so much taller than table lamps they are a perfect choice for a room accent or focal point. The styles are also endless for console lamps but the art deco, arts & crafts end to dominate. The fine art styles are definitely a great choice for a focal point.

3. Floor Lamps

Are from 60 inches to 72 inches tall. They provide task and ambient lighting that usually diffuses the light downward. Floor lamps are an important design element in a room so use it wisely. Tiffany or Tiffany style shades are truly the perfect finish to any room.

4. Torchieres

Are from 72 inches to 78 inches tall and direct the light up. They are a great choice for ambient lighting but are a poor choice for task lighting. Torchieres can make a room look larger especially if the ceilings re white and they work very well in dark room corners. Art glass shades are worth considering!
