If only a few decades ago someone had mentioned the idea of cordless lamps you would have been laughed at. But back in 1995 when NEOZ was working on a lighting design for the Penfold Magill restaurant the idea of cordless lamps began to take shape.

Restaurant design architects recognize one of the major problems that occur with fixed lighting is that when tables are moved into different positions the lighting no longer illuminates properly. Candles on the table are nice but they are also messy. So when asked if they could design cordless lighting for the Penfold project the answer was yes and history was made with the Magill Cordless table lamp.

The early lamps used Ni-Cd batteries and a basic hand remote control unit. One of the biggest surprises for designers was that there was no current rechargeable system on the market that would meet their needs so they had to design their own battery system. Today's cordless lamps have a programmed microcontroller that monitors, controls, and charges the NIMH battery packs and it also provides dimming functions for the lamp.

NEOZ cordless lamps are used throughout the world in restaurants such as the Ritz Hotel, Sheraton Grand, Tangerine, Peninsula Hotel, and the Caf Sydney. But what's even more important is its use within the home environment with 15 different models to choose from.

With cordless lamps you have the freedom to place your lighting wherever you want. No longer is your location determined by the nearest plug. And they can be used just as efficiently outdoors on the patio or in the back yard....
